Šestokrilović Palace is located in the area called “Luka”, in the south-eastern part of Perast. The palace was probably built at the end of the 17th century, which is confirmed by an inscription in the roof cornice making reference to 1691, see below.
The Šestokrilovićs were one of the oldest clans or “casadas”. Milos Šestokrilović was mentioned by Mavro Orbin as leader of the unit of 150 people of Perast who fought on the side of Kotor, Dubrovnik and Ulcinj in the battle against the Bosnian “ban” (governor) Borić in 1150.
Their palace is a harmoniously built, three-storey construction, without a belvedere, reminiscent of the Renaissance style. It has a hipped roof with a characteristic volute. The first floor is accessed though an exterior stairway. On the second floor there is a balcony with a Baroque stone balustrade. The roof cornice above the balcony carries the coat-of-arms of the Šestokrilović family, depicting a bird’s wing and the partly preserved inscription:
SESTO 1691 CR / ILO / VI / CH /
