There is a complex in Baošići which consists of a Baroque captain’s palace and another building which was probably built in the 19th century.
In written sources we find information that the “palace in Baošići” was built by the sea captain Špiro Danilović and that it was named after the Danilović family which originated from Đenovići. Špiro Danilović was a famous sea captain. In 1826 he was mentioned as a commander of “brigatin” (type of a ship) “Cupido”, while from 1982 to 1865 he was a mayor of Herceg Novi.
However, judging by the Baroque characteristics of the palace it is more likely that it was built in an earlier period, possibly by some family from Perast, like the Smekja complex which is found in its immediate vicinity.
The whole complex is enclosed by a stone wall with portals and three semicircular towers. The complex has a spacious park with large, old trees.
Originally the palace was built as a three-storey building, with a centrally set balustraded balcony on the first floor and a hipped roof. All door and window frames have the characteristic Baroque form. By later modifications the authentic appearance and values of the palace has been impaired.
